Happy Holidays!

UGh. Why is Christmas so stressful!? I don't get it. It's suppose to be the most wonderful time of the year. But really if you want to have any fun, or be with family, you have to make sacrifices, and hope everything turns out okay. Tyler and I are really gonna have to have a lot of faith these next 3 weeks that everything works out. We are so ready to visit Family and come to Bellingham, but are we really ready for taking two weeks off work, and driving all that way? I don't know.

We leave Tuesday morning EARLY (4am), and don't come back until Jan 1st. That means Ty has to take 10 days off work. That is a lot! And we have pretty much every bill we have, due the week we get back. So this means Bonnie is STRESSING MAJOR. But it always has worked out before and everything always ends up being fine. But can we be so lucky this time? 2008 and 2009 haven't been the best for us financially... we have had a few hiccups. I am just a worryer i guess. I just hope to forget all that crap, leave it here in Pocatello, and have FUN with our families. Tyler hasn't been home since last Christmas so he is so excited to see his brothers, be able to hang out with "The guys" haha. Ah. Pray for me.

Rant Over. Merry Freakin' Christmas! (sorry for the bad attitude. I will be better tomorrow)

SNOW!

Well, at least there was last week. It's all melted now.

Don't let these pictures fool you... Tyler did 2 windows and a door. lol. I guess that's just how Men are.

He did help eat the candy though!
The finished Product. Not bad!!

Now, any guesses on how long it will be before all the candy is eaten off??

Merry Christmas!!!

new job.

I am always doing short picture posts, but I wanted to do just an update of where we are all at.
First: Tyler started a new job about 3 weeks ago. He now works for The Insulation Specialists. This company is taking the government grants that are going out to homeowners with poorly insulated homes, and re-insulating them to save on energy bills and help keep them warmer. Well, at least thats how it was explained to me, lol. Tyler was riding his bike to work one day this summer when he heard some one yelling his name... "Elder Haas??" and a car pulled over in front of him. Well turns out it was Mike from his mission! So Mike told him about this business he is starting with his buddies, and asked Tyler if he needed a job. Well, at that time Tyler was getting along fine at Teleperformance. so we didn't really think too much into it all. Then in November Mike called Ty up and asked him again, said he would really like him to come work for him. So Tyler went to a meeting while I was up in Washington, and they basically hired him right there, haha. Ty was just going to try it out for a few weeks before he up and quit his other job. but that lasted about a week, and he quit Teleperformance (Sprint Wireless). If you didn't ever know what crazy hours he worked there, I will tell ya. His schedule was school from 8am to 11am, Work from 1:30pm to 11pm 5 days a week! It was horrible, and not to mention super lonely! and he had to work Saturdays and Sundays. So he wasn't able to go to church. Now, he works everyday between 2:30pm and 6pm, depending on how long it takes him to get all of his appointments. Sweet huh?! So what does he do? Well, he goes door to door making appointments for his salesman to come to the homeowners house and do a FREE inspection of their insulation. He doesn't even have to sell anything! So it is pretty easy for him to get people to agree to do something for FREE! On a good day he gets 15, on an average day he gets 10. So he gets paid $14 for every appointment that gets measured (or kept). Its not a bad deal at all. He is making more than at his other job, and only working 2-3 hours a day, AND he gets Sundays OFF! Plus, all the guys that he works with are all returned LDS missionaries. (He had some issues with people not being so nice to him at his last place of work, because he was LDS) So over all a Huge blessing. Lucy loves having her daddy home at night and in the morning. And I love having my husband back!

Lucy: we started the Enbrel two weeks ago. I have seen a little bit of a difference. But it has only been two weeks, time will tell. She still does pretty good with getting shots. no crying. she loves to help clean the spot with alcohol, and clean it after, even if it doesn't bleed. What a brave girl. I am so proud of her. She is learning so much now. Lots of new words, and actions. She is getting so smart! I haven't seen much of her Physical Therapist, but Her Occupational Therapist comes twice a month. We LOVE Tonya! She is so great with Lucy. We are currently working on grasping a writing utensil the right way, and taking off and putting on shoes and socks. These are beginner skills for 2 yr olds. So its okay if it takes her a while. She is just taking everything in. As for Salt Lake, I haven't made her next Appointment, but it will be sometime in Jan. They said they would be able to take her off the pain meds then (currently she is taking Naprosin for her pain, Methotrexate and Enbrel for her RA) she will stay on the last two for as long as she needs.

Me: well not much is going on. Trying new recipes, thanks to Lauren. I really want to cook more. Especially where Ty is going to be home in the evenings. I lost 3 pounds this week, Unintentionally, but I will take it anywhere I can get it right? Haha...

We will be traveling to Bellingham on the 22nd for Christmas. This is the first Christmas we are spending with my family as a married couple! The first year (2007) was suppose to be with my family, but since Lucy wasn't allowed on a plane or out in the cold, we had to stay home. So I am WAY excited for Tyler to experience the Jones Christmas!! This is my favorite time of year, so I can't wait. We will be traveling back to Idaho on the 1st, at least that is the plan.

Wow... this was pretty long. But I dont sit here and type all the time, so you can forgive me. Love you all and hope you are enjoying the season!!

Food-gasm

Yes... I said foodgasm. These two recipes are freaking good! They came from our friend, Lauren Brennan's food blog, which I HIGHLY recommend you check out! She has got some amazing recipes. And If I can do them, ANYONE can!

This first one is Thai Peanut Noodles. I added chicken to it for some protein. Man, it was sooo delicious! And chocked full of fresh veggies!

This dessert isnt really on the healthy side, but HOLY SMOKES! Talk about party in your mouth! If you want the recipe visit her blog... http://wastelessfood.blogspot.com, or you can click the link on the side.

You'll need to wash it down with a tall glass of milk.

Lauren... I have already told you this, But THANK YOU! I will be reading your blog daily. And I am so excited to try your other ideas!

Birthday cake and dresses

This weekend we went over to Our Friend's to celebrate their Daughter's 1 yr birthday!
Michelle made this cake all by herself! I was very impressed. Looked awesome! I need to take some lessons I think.

And the Birthday girl, Shaelynn. She was happy, Trust me. lol, Do you see Lucy eyeing that cake?

Well, I didnt deprive her. She got her own plate of cake and ice cream. Steve and Michelle love to tease me about her staying clean... I promise I am not that bad. You also have to remember she is my first! Probably if/when I get more, I will be more relaxed... haha!

And I had to take pictures of my beautiful girl in her 2009 Christmas dress!! Doesn't she look so pretty!!??

I hope every one is staying warm. It is very cold here... in the negatives for wind chill... We love you all!

Tree, and other stuff

We have our first ever Christmas Tree! In 3 years of marriage, this is our first. Kind of a big deal. Here is Tyler Straightening out the top.

Lucy is watching Christmas Veggie Tails, and admiring our work

Finished Product! Looks pretty good, If I do say so myself!!
So, when I uploaded the pictures I found these ones from Lucy's Birthday dinner at Red Robin...

Fake one... for now.

Okay... So I got a really good deal on this 6' tree! And a super good deal on the package of 72 Ornaments at Fred Meyer. Thanks to My Mom who sent me some of her Employee discount coupons! So this is the before.... Tonight I will post the after. We are going to set everything up after Ty gets home from work!
PS thanks for all of your comments. You all helped me out a ton. I probably wouldn't have gotten one if it weren't far you all. December will be much prettier this way! Love you all!!!

Tree or not?

I need some advice. Well, more like I need someone to make a decision for me.
This is the first Christmas where we have actually been financially "okay" so we have actually gotten presents for each other and others. Since we went out shopping on "Black Friday", I had to wrap everything, so we wouldn't use/wear our presents. So now we have quite a few nicely wrapped boxes, and they look so lonely with out a tree. :( I have never bought a tree before, live or fake. So I have no idea what the cost is. Also, we have like NO ornaments. We do have lights though. As long as I can remember, My parents have always had real trees, so that is what I am use to. I LOVE the pine smell at Christmas time. And there is still 18 days till we head to Bellingham. And I really want to get some sort of tree to put all the gifts under. But is it worth it since we wont even be home during the actual week of Christmas? Let me know what you all think. Thanks! Happy Holidays!!!
