It has got to go! My own husband has now started laughing at me. I don't know how and I don't know who... but somehow, we are fixing it, and SOON!

That is extreme. Good luck with getting the dark out. Ask Dawn she can tell you about getting her black hair color out. My advice is find someone who is experienced in corrective coloring. It won't be cheap cuz its a corrective treatment.
